Day 006 – Expensive Tea and Experimenting with Chicken

Today I finally opened the nice packaged tea and tried the black currant one. Opened the nicely wrapped pyramid inside was this mess like material with the tea leaves inside.  It sat nicely in the mug with the leaf  hanging off the rim.

I followed the instruction and let it steeped for 4-5mins.  The tea smelled very fruity and a bit like Jello mixture. I added a small teaspoon of honey powder not knowing it was already naturally sweeten.

It tasted like black currant.  I was a bit impressed how it didn’t leave a dry throat feeling like some other black tea do but I still could not justify how much it cost.  It might worth to buy larger quantities so that it cost less.

While I was enjoying the teas, I was also preparing for dinner.  Dinner was roasted chicken.  Last time I attempted the recipe, the one side of the chicken that was sitting in the pot was mushy, not crispy like the top.  This time, since I had some potatoes sitting around, I cut them up and threw them at the bottom to elevate the chicken.

It seemed to be working, I thought the oil from the chicken would add flavour to the potatoes but it didn’t.  Next time I would just have to add some salt and pepper to the potatoes before throwing them in with the chicken.
