Day 055 – Miso Glazed Black Cod
Ever since I tried the JUMP’s black cod, I was quite obsessed in finding out how to make it. Last time I tried to poached the Orange Roughy with miso soup. It was so so.
This time, I picked up some fresh Black Cod and found a recipe on Food Network. I didn’t have wine and I didn’t have 6 pieces of fish so I modified it slightly. I substitute the wine with just water and let it marinaded for about an hour. Followed the recipe with the timing, 3 mins broiled and 6 mins at 375F. The glazed was a bit too sweet and heavy since I didn’t really brushed it on, I sort of smothered it on. The texture of it was pretty close to the JUMP version. Flaked off nicely and the meat almost felt like melting in my mouth. I think the timing and temperature was right. Now I just have to figured out the sauce or glazed or seasoning to perfect it.
Unfortunately the fresh Black Cod was quite expensive so I picked up some frozen Blue Cod for more experiment Wonder if they are similar or totally different. Guess I will find out.
