Day 086 – Publishing my own book… wooooo
Well, next week is my niece 1st birthday party. I love my niece. She is the most adorable baby ever.
My husband and I didn’t want to buy her toys, or things that she would grow out of. We wanted to get her something more memorable. We thought about getting her jewellery but then worried that she might ended up choking on it or something.
Since we both love taking pictures, especially pictures of her, we thought we would try to put a photobook together. Searched high and low and found this one website seemed to have what we like and decent price. It is called “BLURB”. What make them different from other places is that they can make 1. large square book – not sure why but it’s something I am quite particular about…somehow square books seems more appealing then rectangular ones. 2. they can do photo wrap cover or dust jacket cover where other places typically have leather, suede, some material cover with a cut out opening for a picture insert. The photowrap options seems to make the book look more professional.
As mentioned before my niece’s birthday is next week, and I am quite worried that the book might not get here in time but I would give it shot. I never done one before and it seemed very easy to use. I downloaded their program. Picked the book format, background colours, pictures I wanted to put in. Drag and drop pictures in the pages. Resizing pictures and adding borders. Organize everything within their program, uploaded and keeping my fingers cross till the book arrives. Wow, I just published my very first book. Niceeee.
It’s so easy to use so I might consider publishing more photobook in the future….
